Indian New Year Celebration & Cultural Exhibition by LISHA
The students went on a Learning Journey to ‘Indian New Year Celebration & Cultural Exhibition’ at Little India. The objective of the outing was to give the pupils an opportunity to experience the richness of Indian Culture and Traditions.
TAMIL DEPARTMENT, 2012 ACTIVITIES
To enable students to learn through fun filled activities and to encourage creativity, team work, independence and confidence they went through a 6-hour Day Camp on 1ST June 2012 at Coral Primary School. Students were exposed to Cultural Board games such as ‘Dahdi & Kattam Vilaiyaatu’ & an Outdoor game ‘Kolae Kolaeiya Munthirika’ was incorporated. Students also learnt about the art of making ‘Idiyaapam’. Tamil Students had Musical drama lessons as well as got to taste an Indian Vegetarian meal served on banana leaves.
MTL TAMIL Fortnight Activities
Students were given opportunities to showcase their talents. Talent Show, Skit, Reader`s Theatre, Poetry composition, ICT power-point presentation & Indian Art – Clay Lamp Painting were some of the activities carried out during the MTL Fortnight Week.
Pupils showcased their talents to their parents.
Traditional Games and Activities
Opportunities were created for the students to play and to be aware of some of the Indian Traditional Games and to collaborate with E1 cluster school pupils to participate in various activities and they bonded well with pupils from other schools.
