Learning Journeys

Fort Canning 2013

On 3rd September 2013, the primary five pupils embarked on their very first interactive heritage trail to Fort Canning Park. This was the first time pupils were using a smartphone as an interactive tool to aid them in their exploration of the trail. They made use of the GPS tracker in the phones to unlock certain information once they reached the desired location.

Teachers were also able to track the location and progress of the students.  Students can learn at their own pace as they go from one station to another to complete the tasks set for them, thus making the students’ learning self-directed.

This new interactive platform enhanced the learning experience of students and most importantly, they had loads of fun while exploring the trail and gaining new insights to the significance of Fort Canning.
